Military Honors Memorial Dedication – May 25, 2013
On May 25, at 2:02 PM, The Cottage Vineyard Winery dedicated their Military Honors Memorial. Owners Jim and Sandra Penner welcomed a modest crowd of nearly 100 attendees.
Pastor Mark Grizzard, from Loudsville Methodist Church, led the group in prayer and blessings on the site.
White County Commissioner Edwin Nix and State Senator Steve Gooch, praised the many servicemen and servicewomen, past, present and future,
for their sacrifices in the defense of our Nation, State, and community. Attending veterans were asked to stand-and-be-recognized.
After an emotional Penner family presentation, the White County Honor Guard performed a stirring ceremony, including a 21-gun salute and the playing
of Taps. Upon closing the event, our very own Helen Czerwinski performed on bagpipes.
The Military Podium is available as a wedding event or special ceremony location for any current active or past Military personnel.
