PARADISE VALLEY BOARD of DIRECTORS


There are seven Members of the Paradise Valley Board of Directors. Members serve for two year staggered terms; elected three or four in alternate years. Elections are held just before Labor Day for terms now beginning April first the following year. All Officer positions are decided and held by Board Members. Board appointed Chairs for Committees, both mandatory and elective, submit membership for Board approval. These Committees are involved in all aspects of Paradise Valley, from park management through Board directed and sanctioned social events.

2018 Election
For the sixth time Elections were held in late Summer to elect three Board Members that will now take office April 1, 2019. Five agreed to run for three Board positions. Two Expense and five Documents measures were also voted. ( 289 votes possible, 241  ballots were cast)

For the fifth time Elections were held in late Summer to elect four Board Members that will take office in May, 2018. Only four agreed to run for four Board positions.

(Oct 7) Voting results were announced as follows: 234  total Ballots Cast  or  81 % of lots (properties) voted.  The necessary  2/3  affirmative vote from a total of 234 ballots cast,  is 156,  while the 51% minimum is 145 .   Ballot

2015 June -  Board Sponsored Covenant Change VOTE

At the June 13, 2015 Board Meeting the official voting results were announced by Secretary, Bobby Privette, as follows: 135  YES and  211  total Ballots cast.  The necessary  2/3  affirmative vote from a total of 211 ballots cast is 141, but the 51% minimum is 145 . Failed by 10 votes !   ( This is the second time this proposal has been voted / defeated. )    FAILED
 A single topic on Ballot.  Ballots due  June 10, 2015. Question ?
  • Should the percentage of  YES  votes for a Covenants change be reduced to  55 %  from the present  2/3 %,
    and   the minimum for  YES  votes, a simple majority of all owners or 145, be eliminated completely?

2014 Sept -  Board Sponsored Covenant Change VOTE

At the October 11, 2014 Board Meeting the official voting results were announced by acting Secretary, Ken Killgo, as follows: 153  YES and  231  total Ballots cast.  The necessary  2/3  affirmative vote from a total of 231 ballots cast is 154.  ( 1/3rd = 77; 2/3rds= [2 x 77] or 154.)

For the second time Elections will be held in late Summer to elect four new Board Members that will take office at the end of May, 2014. This election cycle the Terms of Tom Grice, Ken Killgo, Joe Cuce and Dawn Tranthum are expiring. Nine people were nominated and six agreed to actually run for four Board positions. They are:
 Ridley Nolan, Lot 234/235 - Past President 2005/2006. Owner for 11 years.
 Bill Maxwell, Lot 243/244 - Committees Member. Owner for 11 years.
 Ken Killgo, Lot 86 - Board Member, Currently serving as Architectural Chair. Owner since late 2010.
 Tom Grice, Lot 212 - Board Member, Currently serving as Grounds Chair. Owner for 15 years.
 Joe Cuce, Lot 230 - Board Member, Currently serving as Water/Sewer Chair. Owner for 11 years.
 John Coons, Lot 264 - Past President  & Secretary 2008/2010. Owner for 12 years.

 About 215 Ballots were cast; minimum of 145 or 2/3 of ballots cast, which ever is greater needed to pass.

2013 / 2014 Board of Directors Election

For the first time Elections will be held in September to elect three new Board Members that will take office at the end of May, 2013. This election cycle the Terms of Clyde Camp, Rory Riff and Nick Coman are expiring. Sixteen people were nominated and four agreed to actually run for three Board positions. They are:
 Clyde Camp, Lot 38 - Currently serving as President. Owner for 11 years
 Ridley Nolan, Lot 234/235 - President 2005/2006. Owner for 11 years.
 Rory Riff, Lot 86 - Currently serving as Secretary. Owner since late 2010.
 Sandy Schulze, Lot 212 - Committees Member. Owner for 15 years.

May 2012 vote totals announced ranged from 183 to 161 for individual candidates. This represents about a 63% participation, or 183 ballots out of a possible 289. Rory Riff will serve one year while other newly elected Board Members, Tom Grice, Ken Killgo, Joe Cuce and Dawn Trantham,  will serve for two years. Both Clyde Camp and Nick Coman are beginning their second year, of a two year term.

Unusually this year a second "annual election" will be held in September as the Campground changes the date for the annual election from mid-summer-season to the end of the summer season/
